Bio
SYNTHABILITY is a music producer from Tehran, Iran. His music blends the nostalgic atmosphere of the 1980s with Iranian pop music that emerged in Los Angeles, alongside influences from modern Synthwave.
For SYNTHABILITY, Iranian pop from Los Angeles is more than an influence. The broader sound and atmosphere of 1980s pop also plays an important role in that sense of nostalgia. It is part of the emotional soundtrack of his childhood and of a generation of Iranians who grew up with those melodies, lyrics, and memories. His music draws from that familiar sense of nostalgia and reshapes it through modern Synthwave, creating a sound that feels both personal and cinematic.
His connection to music began at age eight with a Casio SA-21 keyboard. Without formal lessons or a teacher, he learned by ear, spending hours finding melodies and recreating them on the small keyboard.
Music remained a constant presence in his life, even during the years when it was not his main focus. At thirty-three, he returned to it with a more serious approach, using a computer, DAWs, and VST’s to explore production in a deeper way.
As his production skills developed, he found strong inspiration in Kavinsky’s “Nightcall” and the emotional, nostalgic sound of Timecop1983. This led him to begin creating Synthwave as a way to express his own artistic vision.
As a one-man project, SYNTHABILITY creates music using a computer and software versions of vintage synthesizers, drum machines, and effects units.
In 2020, he released his first official track under the SYNTHABILITY name, marking an important milestone in his return to music.
Through his music, he explores and reinterprets the nostalgic and emotional world of Synthwave from his own perspective.
